Sunday 12th September
Fifteenth Sunday after Trinity
Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Let us pray ...
For all who have dedicated their lives to the Church, that they may be the first to acknowledge Jesus as the Christ, and His way of the cross as the road for all His followers.
For Justin, Archbishop of Canterbury; Pope Francis; Bartholomew, the Ecumenical Patriarch; and the leaders of all Christian churches.
With the Diocese of Birmingham, for the work of the Children's Society as it strives to transform the hopes and happiness of young people facing abuse, exploitation and neglect, by supporting them through their most serious life challenges.
In our Deanery, for the parish of St Matthew, Perry Beeches.
For Fr. Gerry and his family, our parish and congregation.
For the staff, students and governors at St Alban’s Academy and for Stanhope Wellbeing Hub.
For Highgate Baptist Church, St Anne's Roman Catholic Church, the Shia Mosque in Clifton Road, Birmingham Central Mosque, the Bahu Trust and Birmingham Central Synagogue.
For all Christian world leaders that they may always demonstrate their faith by caring for the voiceless amongst God's children.
We pray especially for all the peoples of Afghanistan.
For ourselves that, following the example of Jesus, we may be willing to lose our lives for His sake and for the sake of the Gospel, in order to receive life in abundance from God's hands.
For our homes and families, our schools and young people and all in any kind of need or distress as the pandemic continues, that their fears may be relieved.
For the poor, the sick, the imprisoned and the grieving that they may be relieved through our loving actions which express the gift of faith.
For those for whom our prayers have been asked.
(Members of our congregation who are visiting this page because they cannot attend the church due to Covid-19, please note that we never publish the names of the vulnerable individuals for whom we pray on the website. You may receive a full copy of the intercessions including these names by e-mail.)
For the souls of the faithful departed, that the Lord may welcome them into everlasting life
For all who have died recently, especially for Keith Harrison and Derek Angus, for those who have died as a result of Covid-19 and those who have died suddenly, alone or unprepared.
By name amongst those whose years' mind occur at this time: Ellen Spaull, Ida Waterhouse, Herbert Bradbury, and Joan Ault. Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon them.
Let us offer our prayers with those of all the saints and especially with Mary, mother of Our Lord and Queen of Peace: Hail, Mary, full of grace …
Let us bring to mind our own needs and intentions in a time of silence.
