St. Alban the Martyr

Transferred from 29th June

Let us pray ...

For the Church, which Christ built on the rock of Peter and through the mission of Paul, that she may continue to be strengthened and sustained through their intercession.

For Justin, Archbishop of Canterbury; Pope Francis; Bartholomew, the Ecumenical Patriarch; and the leaders of all Christian churches.

With the Diocese of Birmingham for all churches at this time, that they may find creative ways of staying in touch with those who are isolated and vulnerable and to give them spiritual support and also practical support as far as possible.

In our Deanery for the parish of St Matthew, Perry Beeches.

For Fr. Gerry and his family, our parish and congregation.

For the staff, students and governors at St Alban’s Academy and for Stanhope Wellbeing Hub.

For Highgate Baptist Church, St Anne's Roman Catholic Church, the Shia Mosque in Clifton Road, Birmingham Central Mosque, the Bahu Trust and Birmingham Central Synagogue.

For the leaders of war-torn nations that they will grow weary of bloodshed and desire peace and justice.

For those who are guiding our nation and shaping national policies during the pandemic, that they may make wise decisions.

For all prisoners and hostages, for their families and friends, for prison and probation officers and for all who administer the law, especially here in the city of Birmingham; may God help us to forgive one another, to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him.

For those in any kind of trouble, those who mourn, the sick and all who need God’s healing touch in their lives, especially all who are physically disabled and those who treat and care for them.

For those for whom our prayers have been asked.
(Members of our congregation who are visiting this page because the church is closed due to the COVID-19 epidemic: please note that we never publish the names of the vulnerable individuals for whom we pray on the website. You may receive a full copy of the intercessions including these names by e-mail.)

For the faithful departed that they may receive the crown of righteousness from the Lord, the just judge of all.

For all who have died recently, especially Dee Prior, those who have died as a result of COVID-19 and those who have died suddenly, alone or unprepared.

By name amongst those whose anniversaries occur at this time, for David Hay, Alice Mauvan, Nicholas Davies, Gladys Whitehouse, Harry Spaull and Delphine Hall. May they rest in peace and rise in glory.

Let us join our prayers with those of all the saints and especially with Mary, mother of Our Lord and Queen of Peace. Hail, Mary, full of grace

In silence let us bring our own cares and concerns to the throne of grace.
