Renewal Work Restarts

3 Jun 2020 • General news

On Monday 1st June, work to renew the church roof and carry out other high-level repairs restarted after a nine-week shut down due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

By Wednesday 3rd June stripping of the tiles form the South Aisle was complete, and waterproofing membrane was in place, ready for the scaffolding to be extended to reach the nave roof.

Meanwhile at the west end of the church, where repairs to the stonework are needed, the scaffolding had risen by another two layers since the work restarted.

This work is part of our project "Revealing St Alban's Hidden Heritage" supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
