Holy Week and Easter

Services for Holy Week and Easter 2021 at St Alban the Martyr

Although the Church is open for public worship, we have not yet returned to our full traditional liturgical programme for Holy Week and Easter.

Please note that the times of these services are not our traditional ones and the liturgy is simplified.

1st April, Maundy Thursday: 6:00 p.m. Simplified liturgy without foot-washing, congregational procession of the Sacrament to the Altar of Repose, or watch before the Sacrament. 

1st April, Maundy Thursday (Zoom only): 7:30 p.m. We join Highgate Baptist Church over Zoom for a service of Tenebrae.

2nd April, Good Friday (Zoom only): Interrupted Stations of the Cross: Stations 1 - 11 from 12:00 noon; Stations 12 - 14 fro 2:45 p.m.

2nd April, Good Friday: 6:00 p.m. Simplified liturgy.

3rd April Holy Saturday: No Easter Vigil this year.

4th April, Easter Day: 10:00 a.m. Easter service with lighting of the Paschal Candle and Renewal of Baptismal Vows.
