Organ Restoration Appeal
Our fine Rushworth and Dreaper organ is in need of major refurbishment to ensure that it remains available to support our worship and for recitals for years to come.
In particular the leather-work, dating back to the major rebuild by Rushworth and Dreaper in 1940, is now in need of renewal.

Split in the leather of a power motor in the under-action (Daly Organs)
The electronic piston capture system installed in 1997 is now obsolete and an updated system is highly desirable.
We have already begun refurbishing individual elements as they fail and as funds allow.
The Choir Slider Machine and the Great Under-action have been refurbished by Daly Organs, at a combined cost of £14,380.

Work in the Choir Slider Machine (Daly Organs)
Work to renew the 168 electrical key contact blocks beneath all three manuals at a cost of £4,360 has been scheduled for early June 2026.
The bulk of the work is still to be done when funds allow, including refurbishment of the Swell and Choir underactions, the Swell and Great slider machines, Swell Mixture chest, Pedal Open Metal chest, Pedal change over machine, Great Tromba chest, Great Open, top note machines and the double-rise reservoir.
The overall cost, including updating the piston capture system is around £100,000.
